I think the best way to go about it is what Steven said. But optionally, you can rewrite the scene, sort of like Dawn said. Personally, I have a terrible memory, so I can rewrite a scene just a few days later and things will go differently. You may need a few weeks, but hey, you've got the time now. lol One of the things I actually to do help boost word count when I'm in trouble is to resprint the same scene a few days or a week later. I'll get different dialogue and often even a different outcome. Sometimes I'll find gems in there that I want to use elsewhere, even if it isn't the total scene I want to go with. Rewriting without reviewing can take you interesting places, at least, if you have a terrible memory like I do. lol But in general, I agree with Steven. You're just writing the description/explanation for the beginning now, not the actual word-for-word beginning you plan to have in your first draft. |
