Yep, I thought that might capture your attention. AI is getting a lot of bad press, because the entire technology was developed on the coattails of artists and creators of all kinds - visual / graphic artists, musicians, and, of course, authors. Most of the people I associate with are those artists and creators, who complain that AI technology steals their intellectual property, and I understand that argument. I have also been warned not to post my words into the NaNo word counter because of the risk of my content being used for AI development. But with every controversy, there are two sides. I've been playing with ChatGPT for work-related reasons over the last few days, and it's honestly nothing short of amazing. You know how you have that perfect word on the tip of your tongue, but you can't find it? AI to the rescue. Need a list of influencers in the Columbus, Ohio music scene? AI's got you. How about a list of possible adjective-based character names for a powerful female Druid who falls in love with a dragon? AI is your bot. The scientist in me sees the benefits of a tool like this. What are your thoughts? Have you used an AI app like ChatGPT? Love it? Hate it? Have ethical arguments one way or the other? Cheers, Michelle PS: Dear Google dictionary, "influencers" is indeed a word. You're Google. Catch up. |
