1,000 GPs were sent to QueenNormaJean maybesnow?! with this post.
I’ve been growing lettuce, parsley, basil, onions, carrots, and potatoes hydroponically for four years now. I started with just basil and got hooked. It’s a simple system. Basically a metal container that holds the water. I have not put any fish in there, but I will be doing that next year. What’s wonderful is I have a little water treatment which basically keeps the water moving and not filtering it in anyway. The key to the hydroponics is to keep the water sunlight free so that it does not develop algae. I’m telling you, that water is crystal clear. The roots are pure white and they smell beautiful. It’s a “set it and forget it” if you do it right and then just pick your plants when you need them. I’ll never do it any other way again. Oh, very important! Make sure to buy heirloom seeds from a grower or seller you trust. I get mine from a family in Canada and, of course, now I can propagate my own plants and develop my own seeds. You’ve got me chattering away on a topic I absolutely love. And thank you for the GPs. I’m saving up just now because my membership is due Dec.15, and I want to finance it with GPs.
