Central International Airport This choice: Kanya tries to help the other passengers. • Go Back...Chapter #9Kanya wanted to help. by: ruwth   Kanya started to get out of her seat. "I can do what Jason did. I will just move from mask to mask and see who I can help." Just then the pilot's voice came over the loudspeaker.
"We have had an incident. The plane has sustained damage but we will be able to land safely. Please stay calm. Please stay in your seats and keep your oxygen masks on."
Jen had come back into this section of the plane. She and another stewardess were systematically moving from one passenger to another. Someone else was with them. It was the man with red hair that had been at the airport. Jen thought, "He must have been seated in first class . . . how many people were hurt? What happened?"
Justin had been working in research for so long that tending to the medical needs of these passengers was a bit of a challenge but the captain had told him that he was one of the two people on the plane with medical training. He was doing his best.
Justin pulled one of the passengers that looked unconsciousness out of his seat. Kanya recognized him as the fella who had bathed in the cologne. Justin started CPR on that man and he called for help.By now the stewardesses were at the far end of the plane. A small slender woman pushed through the curtain from first class and started helping Justin perform CPR on Festus Wheater.
Kanya noticed that the woman's face was tear-streaked. It was Victoria Rollings. Kanya had no way of knowing that Victorian's husband Edgar laid dead from injuries on the other side of that curtain. Victoria had been pressed into service in spite of that because she was the only other person with a medical background. Like Justin, in spite of her BSN, it had been many years since she had done direct patient care. This was a challenge for her in more ways than one.
Kanya watched as the two of them performed CPR on Festus Wheater, she suddenly recognized Victoria. She had seen her before at the hospital in Minneapolis,
Kanya's problems with Raul seemed insignificant compared to what was happening right now!
Right then Jason re-entered the cabin. He stepped around the man on the floor and the couple working so hard to help him.. That was not an easy feat for the big man to do. He motioned to Jen.
Kanya looked back in Jen's direction and was relieved to see that the stewardesses had gotten oxygen masks on most of the passengers and they were reviving . . . reviving to face this horror!
The captain's voice was coming over the loud speaker again.
"Thins are under control. We are heading to the nearest airport. We are confident we can make our destination. Please stay calm. Stay in your seats. Follow the instructions of the staff. They are trained to handle emergencies. Please stay calm and stay in your seats.
Kanya began to look around at the other passengers again. They all looked very frightened.
