This choice: look for a parachute.  •  Go Back...
Chapter #6

Self vs. Others

    by: Karmen
Jessica rose from her seat and ran down the aisle. A flight attendant tried to stop her. "Ma'am, please return to your-" She was cut off by a shove to the midriff. Jessica turned and saw the man shoot an angry, almost homicidal look her way. Jessica tried to shake it off, but out of the corner of her eye, he saw the man walk over in the direction of the girl's seat. Jessica grabbed a parachute.
The plane, at the moment, was the most dangerous thing you could imagine. There was turbulence; people were panicking, against the wishes of the pilot and the attendants. A man, an assassin's current target, was standing during this turbulence, heading towards an innocent little girl. A woman was grabbing a parachute, with flight attendants ceaselessly attempting to persuade her to return to her seat. Attendants were getting shoved by the woman.
Jessica began to put the parachute on, but a man's voice and a child's squeal caught her fleeting attention. "Hey you, Little Miss Assassin Chick!" The man called. Jessica disliked the stupid derogatory remark made by her target. Jessica's eyes widened when he saw the girl, hanging by her shirt collar from the locked fist of the man.
"If you don't put down your parachute right now, the girl goes bye-bye!" He yelled. Jessica looked at the beautiful hazel eyes of the little girl. Any other time someone would call them beautiful. But right now, they were filled, a hundred percent, with fear. Jessica was an assassin. She was used to death, threats, and death threats. She had no problem killing, or others being killed. But being a widow, she had a soft spot for children.
She had a choice to make.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Jump out and leave the girl to die.

*Noteb*
2. Drop the parachute and attempt to save the girl.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
