Central International Airport This choice: The plane lands and Raul leaves without recognising Kanya • Go Back...Chapter #9The plane lands and Raul leaves without recogni... by: Mortimer Quincy Queensborough The rest of the flight was unbearably tense, the presence of Raul lingered on her mind. She listened to her iPod, each passing song felt longer, as she started to drift into a slumber. As she drifted, she felt a hand shake her awake. It was Alice, she said with a smile "Hey hon, the flight is over, we've arrived."
Kanya was rushed with relief, Raul no where in sight. As she began to grab her things, Alice began to question her. "That fellow, who arrived late, did you know him?" she said with innocent curiosity; Kanya quickly shot back a hesitant "No!". Realizing she just yelled at this kind flight attendant, she continued "No, sorry, I'm just on edge, I have been losing sleep lately and been a bit high strung." Alice smiled and responded "Don't worry hon, I understand completely, flight attendants aren't exactly known for getting sufficient sleep."
Kanya, as she was leaving, heard Alice call out "Wait!", Kanya turned, "I forgot to tell you, the man across from you was looking at you quite a bit while you were taking your little nap, do you know why?"
Kanya knew, but she replied "Well maybe he liked what he saw, that's just something I'm used to." Alice smiled "You're funny, I wish I was that confident"
As she left the plane, Kanya spots Jason waiting on bench, near rental car registry. Kanya meandered over to ask how his flight went, with the thought of Raul watching her sleep lingered in her mind. As she approached him, he stood up and greeted her with a smile, "Hey my sister just informed me that my Aunt Martha got sick and will not be able to attend my sister's wedding, and she asked if I would be interested in bringing a 'plus one', would you be interested in joining me?"
Kanya pondered if this was her escape from Raul, or an invitation to something far worse...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
