Central International Airport Chapter #4Fly to London, England by: Choconut "Justin, I thought you were long gone." She smiled at the sight of her flame haired travelling companion. "Why are you back?"
Grabbing her arm, he ushered her deeper into the park. They came to a spot where they were completely surrounded by trees and shrubs. As he looked around, Justin licked his lips.
"Turns out, I don't really like travelling on my own. I got as far as the border and came straight back."
He stared at his feet and unease crept over Kanya. "But, why would you do that? If you can make it into Germany, you can go to the Liebwitz Hotel, and they will take care of you."
Stepping closer, his voice was barely more than a whisper when he spoke. "They followed me, I'm sure of it."
Kenya's heart pulsed in her neck. "You mean my father's goons?"
"Yes. Who else? I stayed at a Premier Inn in Zurich. I figured, it was a big city, and they would never track me to there. So I stayed overnight. In the morning, the guy on reception had a message for me from my "friends." Apparently, they came to see me, but I was sleeping. So they ask him to tell me they would catch up with me the next day."
As she gasped, Kanya threw her hand in front of her mouth. "So, what do we do now? Heck, forget that. Did they follow you here? What are doing getting me somewhere isolated, like this? Oh, God." She glanced around and a sweat broke out on her forehead and top lip.
"No. It's okay. I've been careful about every movement, doubling back on myself so many times I've felt dizzy. They don't know we're here, but they do know we're in Switzerland. That's why I came back. I had to let you know."
A crow flew overhead, cawing loudly, as though he was a messenger, proclaiming their whereabouts. Kanye swallowed hard. "Actually, they kind of already knew we were here."
Justin took a step back and tipped his head to the side. "Wh—what? What do you mean they already knew? Have you seen them, Kanya? Where were they?"
"I haven't seen them. But they were at the hotel. The gems . . . well, they got them. I didn't even leave my hotel room, but when I checked in the safe this morning, they were gone."
"Geez. We have to get out of here. They might not have touched us yet, but I take back my former statement. They know we're here. They probably have eyes on us right now." He kicked at the ground and exhaled loudly. "Come on."
He took her by the hand and walked her back through the park. When they reached the coffee shop two block from her hotel, he told her to wait while he went to get her passport and a few clothes. When he returned, she asked if he had seen any of the suits, searching his face for any sign of fear.
"No. I didn't see anyone. I haven't checked you out with reception. I thought it will be best to make them think you're here as long as possible."
"Okay. So, where to now?"
"London."
"London. But, I thought—"
"It's all right. I've been in contact with my friend, and he said he hasn't seen any signs of your father's employees. He's sure we will be safe." As he spoke, he gently ushered Kanya out of the coffee shop and onto the street. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
