Chapter #5

Hawaiian Tropics

    by: Di1209
Festus Wheatear could hardly believe that he was actually boarding a plane to Hawaii. He had been saving his pennies for decades, and he had finally gone and done it. He was ecstatic beyond belief. Wouldn't Aunt Hilde be surprised right now if she could see him? He leaned back in his seat and looked out the window. He was lucky enough to get a window seat.

He looked over at the woman sitting beside him. Auburn hair, mid twenties, legs that went on forever, and a beautiful face. He was sure his Allspice would have got her attention by now, but she seemed to be purposely ignoring him. "I'm sure I'm getting to her, but I'll play her game for awhile," thought Festus. He felt like a kid again. Festus sighed and shut his eyes and dreamed of dark-haired beauties with leis awaiting him as when he stepped off the plane 6 hours from now. "What to do first? Should I check into my motel and then go find a classy restaurant and bar and dine on fillet mignon with a glass or two of bourbon Or should I just bask in the beauty of the ocean waves rolling to shore from my motel window as I lie on my bed," Festus pondered in a dreamlike trance.

Festus had just fallen asleep when he heard a loud commotion at the front of the plane. He jumped off his seat and knocked off the magazine that had been on his lap to the floor. He saw two men yelling and cursing at each other, and a stewardess quickly came out to assess the situation. Festus decided to put on his headphones to block out the noise and listen to music, when suddenly he saw something that shocked him senseless.
