Chapter #6

attacked by the drunk in the hall

    by: Unknown
Oh God! I hate England already, she said to herself as she tried to fight back the tears of frustration and failed. Jet lag and tiredness overtook her and she fell into deep sleep.

It was the crashing - the banging on the door which woke her.

"'Ere, you! open the bleedin' door, I'm feelin' like a bit o' yankee gel for me tea. Open it, or I'll kick the perishin' door down. C'mon, yer 'eard me, sweet'eart. cor, you're a smashin' bit o' fluff, make no mistake."

Jessica was petrified, too frightened even to pick up the phone and even more frightened because she did not know the system.

The voice outside the door became giggly. " 'Ere, if you don't open this bleedin' door, I'll 'uff an' I'll puff an' I'll bloomin' well blow it down.' This was suffixed with raucous laughter and more banging.

Then there was a louder bang and a groan. This time there was a softer knock.

Ma'am, are you okay in there.?

"Go away, or I'll call security."

"Yes'm, all you need to do is pick up the phone and punch in keypad nine. When the girl answers tell her there's a Delta November, needs seeing to."

          "What's a....?"

"Delta November. Phonetic language for Drunken Nuisance. Too many of 'em since we converted to being a dormitory for conventions and conferences."
