Chapter #7

The police go after Jessica

    by: Unknown
"Good evening officers" beamed Jessica, her mood lightening in the realisation that
double-booking a room was a criminal offence in London. She sauntered out of the elevator and over to the Main Reception desk tossing her wet hair in the direction of the
pale-faced Desk Clerk.

"Looking a little nervous there Edward" she said leaning in to read his name badge.. "and rightly so, I remember you from earlier, you should have been paying more attention to my suitcases and less attention to Sophie The Receptionist, is it any wonder we're in such a curfuffle now...." Edward looked even more scared and very baffled. He stared at Jessica, then at Sophie who was reapplying her lipstick in quite a prevocative way he thought, then at the 7 policemen who were growing increasingly impatient.

"Good evening madam" interrupted one of the policemen. "Can you step this way for a moment please?" "Certainly officer, I'm more than happy to give a statement. You see it all began when my flight to Paris was cancelled in Heathrow, the check-in girl said she would book me into the honey-moon suite of this hotel, I arrived here, Sophie booked me into Suite 39, I had a shower, was about to get into bed only to find Mr and Mrs Jikarta had already booked into the room" vented Jessica, staring pointedly at Sophie, relieved to offload her tale of woe to these very understanding gentlemen.

Jessica noticed one of the officer's scribbling in his notebook, then the policeman who originally greeted her stepped forward and said "Madam, is your name Jessica Nora Adams?" "Yes, how did you know officer? I'm really flattered you London cops go to such great lengths to make us visitors feel welcome, even if....." Her voice trailed off as said officer proceeded to read her her rights "You have the right to remain silent...." "Is this some kind of sick joke?" cried Jessica pinching herself in the hope that she was dreaming. The policeman continued to read her her rights, as another policeman roughly manicled her delicate wrists with handcuffs and the other five officers followed suit after getting one last look at Sophie The Receptionist who seemed to be in a constant state of lipstick reapplication and eyelash fluttering.

Flanked by two of the burlier officers, Jessica was bunched into the back of the white van, which had bars across the rear, a van that was used for only the most hardened of criminials.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Jessica is jailed for drug smuggling

*Noteb*
2. Jessica finally gets to Paris after a case of missing identity

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
