Central International Airport This choice: If you are seated in Coach-Class • Go Back...Chapter #6If you are seated in Coach-Class by: Fitzy3 Tom Knight was beginning to giggle just a bit. Call it a nervous reaction when faced with a certain cataclysmic event like the wing being sheared off or just plain old psychosis. Either way, Tom was starting to laugh out loud while everyone else on this particular aircraft was screaming their final screams.
Tom was not having a good year. Why just two days ago, he happened upon his wife's BMW in the parking garage at the Four Seasons in Boston. That in itself isn't so bad, but just 2 days before that she had left for the airport telling Tom she was meeting a group of women at a spa in Sedona. Tom had parked his Lexus in the same garage with permission from the chief valet who worked out at Fit-Corp with Tom. They had a similar schedule and often spotted each-other in the weight room and even played a bit of racket ball.
Bernard was a large African American and saw Tom coming through the lobby. "Hey Tom, we workin it out today?"
"Not likely Bern, whats with that Beemer on Level One in preferred parking?" Tom asked.
Bernard looked at Tom with dark eyes and eyebrows heading southerly and said, "Well, let's see, that fine automobile belongs to the general managers newest squeeze and let me tell you.." "That's all I needed to know Benard, thank you."
When Tom started running for the front desk, Bernard had to stop him and almost throw him into the street. "Wait a goddam minute Tom, this is my job you fuckin with, now tell me what the fuck is up an I will help you make it right but don't come in my hotel and start thinkin of bustin shit up!"
"Ok fine Bernard, let go of my neck and I will explain, deal?" Tom asked, barely able to speak through the stranglehold. Bernard let go and took Tom into the Bar. "Tony, 2 beers" Bernard snapped. They sat at a table and after a long sip, Tom said, "The G.M.'s new squeeze is my wife."
"I was afraid you gonna say that" Bernard said. "So now I give it to you straight my man because you and me is friends, and Jerry Rosenthal is a piece of shit anyhow. At 10:00 tonight they hoppin a flight to Honolulu. That is all I know and now the rest is your business but please take care of it away from this place. I've got kids to feed."
Bernard finished his beer, got up and started for the door. "Bernard," Tom barked, Bernard looked back, "Thanks for the beer." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
