Central International Airport Foolish Joe had come so close as to Jess as to be nearly sitting on her lap. He certainly was eager - but when Jessica said "My true love has always been murder", there was visible confusion on his nicely-freckled face. The confusion suddenly was shot with pain as Jess's ring finger drove into his breastbone. Electricity flashed through his body, enough to make his spasm then lie quiet, but not enough to kill him. Jessica was fond of her ring; one of the cleverest and most Bondian inventions her organisation had ever devised.
With her prey lying prone, his mouth drooling openly, Jessica relaxed into the seat beside him. As she closed her eyes - to any onlooker - she and hapless Joe may have seemed like a tired couple, on an innocent flight to Paris.
The whole plan - save for the minor hiccup - was indeed going to plan. Then why could Jess not shake this feeling of uneasiness which filled her? When she had shocked dear Joe, had a jolt of electricity shot through her body too, or had that been guilt? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
