Central International Airport This choice: Thad runs when he sees Justin • Go Back...Chapter #11Blood is Thicker Than Water.... by: Unknown Taffina stepped out of the limo and Thad was now on the front steps.
"Job done Taff, now about my money!" But when Justin stepped out from behind Taffina the colour drained from his face. The beer bottle that was in his hand dropped to the floor with a thud and a crack, breaking clean in two.
"What the hell is he doing here?" Thad's voice came out in a whisper.
"I could ask you the same thing don't you think?" Justin growled. He curled his fingers into a fist. He still couldn't get to grips as to why his own brother would set him up, he still didn't have a clue what was going on.
As Justin took a step towards his brother Thad turned on his heel and ran. Away from Justin, away from the beach house and away from the consequences. Taffina and Justin watched him go.
"Let's go inside, I'm sure he will be back." Taffina said calmly.
"No." Justin spat.
"What do you mean no?" Taffina turned to face Justin, a serious look in her eyes. She made a gesture to her body guard and Felix came around the limo to stand next to Taffina.
"I'm not going anywhere until I get some answers. I don't have a clue what is going on, I don't know why my brother is involved with you or why there was a dead man in my room. I'm not moving from this spot Taff until you talk to me." Justin was adamant.
"Justin, I am not going to explain all this stood out here. Let's go inside, make ourselves comfortable and then we can talk."
"I mean it Taffina, I'm not moving."
"Maybe not willingly." She clicked her fingers and Justin was grabbed, both his arms twisted into a lock behind his back.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way Justin. I'm trying to help you, I'm not the bad guy here." Taffina purred.
"Fine I'll go inside, but I want answers. Now get your muscle to let me go." Justin was released and he rubbed his wrists to get some feeling back.
Justin followed Taffina up to the beach house, Felix the body guard stood right beside him obviously to make sure he didn't run off.
Once inside Taffina led Justin through a series of rooms. Each one as modern and glamorous as the last. They eventually ended up the kitchen which had a wall of glass looking out to the beach below them. In any other circumstances Justin would admire the view, he had always wanted to live by the beach but right now he was just focused on getting the truth. He didn't give a damn about the view.
"Felix, could you get some drinks for Mr Avery and myself." Taffina ordered her bodyguard who looked less than pleased to be making refreshments. "Take a seat Justin, I'm sure you have lots of questions."
Justin sat at the dining table that was situated right in front of the glass wall. He sank into a leather dining chair and it made him realise how tired he was and how much his body ached.
"Are you sure Thad will be back?" He asked gruffly running his hand across the growing stubble on his chin.
"Well if he wants to get paid then I'm sure he will." Taffina sat down opposite Justin and began examining her nails. Justin took this moment to really look at Taffina. She was a model and it certainly showed but looking at her now in harsh light he could see the signs of a serious women underneath all that make up. He glanced down as she crossed her perfectly tanned legs and as her skirt rose a little he got a glimpse of a gun in a holster wrapped around her upper thigh. He shuddered a little.
"My brother is in the army, I don't understand why he's working for you." Justin asked perplexed at his brother's involvement.
"Your brother used to work for the army Mr Avery. He got discharged over misconduct almost a year ago, we met quite by chance but Thad was just what I was looking for. He fits in well with us here." Taffina smirked.
"Why did you save me Taffina? If Thad was using me as a set up then why not let me take the fall? That's what you had planned wasn't it?"
"Firstly I had no idea Thad was setting up his own brother, and secondly I need you. I did a little research after we met on the plane Justin Avery. Your more renowned than you let on."
"I'm just a scientist Ms Marks. Nothing more." Justin glugged down the water that had been put in front of him by Felix. He was nervous and confused and certainly didn't want to be there.
"I think you're a little more than just your average scientist Mr Avery. You've been working on some big projects recently haven't you?"
"Ask him about Ararat Taffina..." Both of them turned their heads to the kitchen doorway where Thad stood, a little out of breath and with a hard look on his face. He couldn't meet Justin's eyes. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
