Chapter #6

Take the risk and take on the problem on her own

    by: Unknown
Jessica could do this on her own. She was used to thinking on her feet, and Paris was her favorite city, assignment or not. She could easily bag her target and disappear in the winding streets of Paris. She just needed to map her plans more carefully before the plane reached the Charles de Gaulle Airport.

She picked up her well worn novel and began to twirl her fingers in the strands of her hair. The marked up novel was actually her plan b. No one would ever guess the underlined words were instructions and cue words for the stealthy assasin.

If she was honest with herself, deciding to bag the guy on her own was exactly the thing she needed to get back on her game. The debacle with Lucy totally obliterated the small shred of trust she had. She had forgotten the first rule of being an assasin 'trust no one.'

The plan formulated in Jessica's mind perfectly. She knew the man's kind nature would play to her benefit. Jessica searched her tote for her stationary and pen. She penned a quick note to the man in 15b, folded it twice and wrote 'The Man in 15b' in on the top. She smiled a sweet, cloying smile and asked the people to pass the note to the man. It was a little high-schoolish but Jessica threw in a blush and a nervous twist in her hair to give the impression she was smitten.

She watched him intensely as he opened the note. He read it and smiled. But it wasn't the smile she expected. It was sinister. Not what she expected. He scrawled something on her note and passed the note back. Jessica's eyes never left his cool stare. His eyes were the oddest shade of violet she had ever seen. But it wasn't the color that threw her off, it was something else, something dark, yet something she knew she could identify with...

As she opened the note, her worst fear came to reality. The note said: "I know who you are and what you do. Care to play cat and mouse?" She had never had her cover blown before! Now she was in danger. She knew she should make that call to Lucy, but that wasn't going to happen. She had never backed down from a challenge. She was either going to make sure he never left the plane or take him down in the Paris airport.
