About This Author
My name is Joy, and I love to write.
Why poetry, here? Because poetry uplifts its writer, and if she is lucky enough, her readers, too. Around us, so many objects abound to write about. Once a poet starts with a smallest, most trivial object, he shall discover that his pen will spill out what is most delicate or most majestic hidden inside him. Since the classics sometimes dealt with lofty subjects with a lofty language, a person with poetry in his soul may incline to emulate that. That is understandable. Poetry does that to a person: it enlarges the soul and gives it wings. Yet, to really soar, a poet needs to take off from the ground.

She pulls herself back to a standing position, dusting off the grass and grime, and focused her eyes in the direction the figure was running.
Her luck held out, because just as she was about to give up the chase, she noticed that green sweatshirt slightly askew of the swing set in the children's playground. He was leaning against a tree trying to catch his breath.
Her cell phone was ringing in her pocket, but she did not want to take her attention away from the figure she had been chasing. Just as she put her hand in her pocket to grab the phone, she noticed the green sweat-shirted figure creeping toward the bushes on the other side of the playground.
She knew if she called the police, the suspect might have a chance to get away, under the cover of the bushes. She could run toward where he disappeared, but then what would she do if he heard her coming for him?
So, Jessica decided to take a chance and... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
