No, don't testify.

You tell the detective that you're just not comfortable testifying against the guy.

"Are you sure?" He asks. "We really need this."

"I know," you reply. "But I just can't."

The detective mutters something about thanks for your time and abruptly hangs up.

You go about your daily life, never knowing whether the robber was convicted or acquitted. You have no idea whether he's free or in prison... and every time you go by a dark alley, or step into a convenience store, you wonder if you'll run into him again.
