Meet David Lewis for the dinner meeting

    by: Marsha Musselman
Scribe already had his secretary make the necessary arrangements to take his wife to the same restaurant that David suggested, so he decided to agree to meet David first at 7:00pm and then he'd just have to figure out a good way to get his wife to the restaurant to meet him there rather than taking her himself as he originally planned.

"Patti, call David back and let him know that I will meet him to discuss the movie tonight as he requested."

"But sir, what are you going to do about the reservation you already made with your wife?"

"If it wasn't Valentine's Day, I'd just suggest to my wife that he join us for our meal, but I can't really do that tonight. So instead, I'm thinking it might work out to meet with David first and maybe have a small appetizer, and then have drinks and the main part of the meal with my wife after the meeting is over.

"In fact, why don't you also suggest that David bring his wife and they can dine together after we discuss a few things. Then he wouldn't expect me to stay and visit with him longer than I am able to.

"Unless there is a problem with my suggestion for tonight with David, I'd appreciate you holding all my calls. I need to work out some things for my writing anniversary tomorrow. I have a lot of things to accomplish this afternoon before I leave to get ready for this evening."

Later, as he was leaving for the day, Patti informed him that David agreed with his idea to invite his (David's) wife to the restaurant after their meeting was over.

He left at his normal time to go home and get ready for his evening's activities.

What happens at the restaurant?
