This part of your opening sentence made me smile: "Today started with a lot of time to do what ever I decided I'd like to do, which was a lot of nothing." I personally think coming to Writing.Com to play (err, write) is something worthwhile. Though I do try to wait until I have my other goals complete or until later in the afternoon at least. If I log in here first thing, I might never get anything else done lol. But you have a lot of family and I'm sure they pull you away from your computer or phone.
