First Impressions:
I’ve been taking part in this activity for four months now so I figured it’s about time I sent you a review. And what better opportunity than your 14th anniversary?
I remember seeing it advertised in the newsfeed and coming to check it out. It looked complicated and I get confused easily, so I walked away. Then I saw you post about it in another forum and you assured me that it would be fun, so reluctantly, I bought my dragon egg. I figured I would work out what to do in my own time, but it wasn’t anywhere near as hard as I thought it was going to be. First of all, there is a lot going on in this forum, but it is all so well organised and in a logical order that even I couldn’t get lost. You have a cool intro, clear instructions and FAQs that are all neatly tucked away in dropnotes, and a list of eggs that players can purchase as well as their different attributes. And then there are all the ways people can earn XP for their dragons. It’s a long list and honestly, if people don’t find at least one activity they can get involved in, they’re not looking hard enough. I’m not the most active player by a long shot - to be honest, life has been busy so I just about manage to keep things ticking over at the moment, but my dragon Gregory has been doing okay and is growing steadily. With a bit of effort on my part, he could probably be a fully grown dragon in no time.
Suggestions:
There isn’t much I can think of to suggest. The page looks beautiful, and your images, as always, are outstanding. Everything is very clear and you made good use of different font sizes and colours to make important parts stand out. There is one invalid link in the 10 XP section that might be worth removing. My main suggestion, or rather, question, is about the Dragon Vale Arena. I’m not a competitive person so chances are I wouldn’t participate, but I’m curious what it is and when it might open. It looks interesting, anyway.
Final Thoughts:
I don’t know how you find the time for this activity, both to set it up initially and then to maintain it. Clearly, a lot of work has gone into this, not just coming up with all the different ways of obtaining XP (and updating the list periodically to add new activities to the list) and making the forum look pretty but also keeping up with all the forum posts. And at the end of the game, you will be giving away very generous prizes for the highest ranking players. I’m not likely going to be one of them but I’m having a lot of fun with this so I don’t even care, and to me, it’s easily the best new activity this year.
