I invite your attention to the comments below. Please bear in mind these notes are from one on the outside looking in; ultimately only you can decide what's right for your story.
Overall Impression. Toward the end of the month after I've completed my Anniversary reviews I tend to find addition review items from the Read & Review feature. But you reviewed on of my pieces so thought I would return the favor.
You have a wide range of items listed under "What's New?" but this appears to be your most recent. I suspect this offering is inspired by current events.
And I agree wholeheartedly. Society has indeed broken down. A phrase that I heard some years ago runs through my mind often: "My sense of justice is outraged." Sometimes I fall back on the old 'what can one person do?' mentality. Other times I express my opinion to friends and acquaintances only to be dismissed out of hand.
I fear two things: That we must hit rock bottom as a society before change can happen. And if we reach that point, will we even be able to recover?
Anyway, this divide between Right and Left is coming to a head. I hope cooler heads will prevail in the coming elections.
I'm a Baby Boomer and I remember sitting at the dining table every night. We never or seldom spoke about politics. But both parents were interested in how each of their four kids' days went. They were invested in us. But you're right about the change of pace life hit us as we had kids. While we tried to have evening meals, sports and school events crept up and took over.
Still, I feel blessed watching how my kids interact with their families and feel that the future is not yet lost. Time will tell
Technical and Editorial Considerations. In this section I normally list those areas that relate specifically to the mechanics of your writing--punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc.
My only issue with your offering is the rather abrupt nature of its ending. It seemed like you just stopped in mid-thought.
I am curious--why did you use a purple font color?
My Rating. 5.0.
Thank you for sharing this offering. Please accept these comments as offered in friendship and support. They are but my humble opinion.
