Hello, Joy!
INITIAL IMPRESSION / OVERVIEW:
You wrote a thoughtful blog post about the merits of decisiveness.
Your writing kept me riveted and I read straight through to the end.
MORE DETAILED FEEDBACK:
Happy Writing.Com Anniversary month! I read this blog post of yours sometime in the past and loved it, but didn't have time to review it right then, so I flagged it for an anniversary review (meaning I saved the link to it in a special "June" file.).
I hope you enjoy this review as a celebration of your time here and find the review uplifting.
I admire your ability to "decide quite fast." I think I remember reading that it's a trait of great leaders that they decide quickly, based on the information available (meaning, they get counsel and gather information, but don't deliberate on and on and on - they make a decision and take action), so you share that trait of great leaders!
I also like it better when things are decided, rather than hanging open and undecided. Though some things are taking me what seems like forever... actually, that's really because of the other person involved. I'd have made the decision three times over already. Interesting that just trying to connect with you and what you wrote helped me realize that. Thanks for the bonus insight!
Those things you listed are definitely causes of indecision. I saw a class on "analysis paralyis" advertised by a big wig motivational speaker. Apparently it's more common than I'd realized before that. I liked that you touched on that too. Fear can be a bugger, for sure.
I loved the ending. Probably the last line was my favorite because it made me relate to the leaf. Who knew it was even possible to relate to a leaf? You did!
Like you, I doubt there's anyone who's swiftly and effectively decisive one hundred percent of the time. We all get sick, have family issues, emergencies, etc. and that can impact our decision making. I suspect you do better than ninety percent or more of people though, based on what I know of you from your blog and other writing.
I didn't notice any spelling or grammatical mistakes (or mistakes of any kind) in your blog post.
I thought the genres you selected were perfect for this personal blog of yours. it can be tricky to get the genres right for a prompt-driven blog. You never know what you'll end up writing about from day to day, never mind for the overall blog.
IDEAS TO MAKE YOUR PIECE STRONGER:
I would love to have something great to share here, but I think it's wonderful as it is. Well done!
CONCLUSION:
You have an engaging writing style and I greatly enjoyed reading your blog oost about decisiveness.
Thank you for sharing your time, creativity, heart, spirit, and writing with the Writing.Com community!
Once again, happy anniversary month! I hope the year ahead is filled with blessings and joy for you!
May love, joy and peace be yours in abundance!
