I am a 40 year old married mother of two teenage boys. I live for writing, especially romance. Love the happily ever after scenerio. The best thing about writing for me is the ability to lose yourself in your work, and feel as if you've accomplished something great. At the end of the day, that's all that really matters.
Well, look what I stumbled upon again! Another brilliant 'shape-poem'.
And what a beauty of a poem it is, especially with how well you were able to craft it enough to form the shape of a Christmas tree (how did you even manage it?)
Gushing over the shape aside, let's focus on what the piece is about. You've done a great job capturing the 'voice' of the season with a poem that reminds one of the classics. There's a sweet whimsy in each line; from seeing the bright light and immediately thinking of Santa and his sleigh appearing on Christmas Eve, while children sleep (or not) in anticipation for what's to come the morning after.
There's also a poignant tone to this for it almost seems like a prayer to Santa to make a mother's wish come true for her daughter. She only wishes to see the smile on her child's face, and we - the reader - is just as hopeful and left with feelings of nostalgia of what the season's all about.
Quite an enjoyable poem all around. Thanks for sharing and keep on writing!
