First, let me wish you a happy WDC Anniversary, and many more to come.
As to the style of story, you mention it’s not your usual style to write. It’s not my usual style to read, but it was highlighted in your portfolio, so here we go.
The whole story is reminiscent of one of the Disney “short stories” you see in the sing-a-long videos you put in the DVD player for your children and grandchildren. As soon as Elsa appeared in your story, I immediately pictured the giant and the harp as they were envisioned in “Mickey and the Beanstalk.” All you really need in the story were lyrics for Elsa singing “Have Faith in Yourself” to Jack as she kept on zapping up ice walls to block the giant.
I would say you met the challenge you were given for this story
