This bit of flash fiction has a lot going on. I read it twice and had to include the title and the introline to fully grasp what it was about. The blues being the same everywhere is such a double entendre. It can be about music, but it can also be about feeling blue, being sad or depressed.

I love that this was part of your 2018 I Write! It feels like my goal: to create more writing, is working out.

My only suggestion is to add two Genres to this piece. "Contest Entry" and "Other" don't mean enough. You can probably use "Music" and "Self-Help" or "Friendship" to the Genres.
