Mike had a beautiful lady, Loved her more than sunshine, He swore he'd protect her, He'd share all of his lifetime. Over her he thought he'd rule, Oh, what an April Fool. Mike had a handsome friend, He was virulent, dark and tall, Mike asked him to make a play, For his girl, then they'd brawl, A hilarious joke so cool, Oh, what an April Fool. The couple went honky-tonkin', Mike's lady was asked to dance, Amused by his girl's deception, He watched them merrily prance. Soon he'd take her to school, Oh, what an April Fool. His friend softly kissed her neck, Her arms drew him closer, "Time for this charade to end," Mike yelled, "I'll expose this poser, You and I must have a duel!" Oh, what an April Fool. "Go away, Mike, you silly man," She said, "Stop acting dumb, I'm wise to your stupid trick, Now you and I are done." Some jokes are much too cruel, Oh, what an April Fool.
