About This Author
Writing poetry allows me to exercise my imagination and share it with others. I strive to write for the benefit of the reader using carnival fun mirror images of my life's experiences.

My mother fell off her chair at Wendy's, Which is what started it all. She lay on the floor unconscious, As we made a hurried 911 call. The emergency responders gave care, As I never felt so damn helpless. I prayed to my omnipotent God, To relieve my poor mother's distress. On a stretcher, they lifted her gently, In an ambulance, she was so placed. To the hospital with all sirens blaring, Behind I nervously chased. I was told to stand by while my mother, Was intensively helped by the staff. When I was finally allowed to see her, I could only cry while I laughed. She was sitting up and grinned like a cat, Bandages like a turban on her head. I gave her a hug and a sloppy kiss, And thanked God that she wasn't dead. I never took mother for granted again, Because when everything goes awry, We realize then it's much, much too late, To do anything but hopelessly cry.
