The saga of my life, darkly secret, Was hidden behind a thick wall of lies. My pseudo blood showed no regret, But wore signs of pretense in their eyes. Forty years after abandoned at three, I'm told my name wasn't given at birth. Long-buried anguish rocked my memory, Confused, I re-examined my worth. Doubt, like tendrils of poison ivy, Crept into the fractures of my mind. Suppressed angst almost destroyed my psyche, But now I see where once I was blind. The truth delivered a powerful sting, But hope, the efficacy of truth does bring. A Sonnet is a poem of expressive thoughts/ideas made up of 14 lines, each being 10 syllables long. Its rhymes are arranged in three quatrains followed by a rhyming couplet.
