Dear St Jude, Servant of Jesus Christ, Loved by the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Patron of lost causes, Peace be upon the world. You remind us That the Lord saves His people And destroys all disbelievers. Their wage is eternal fire. It's for saintliness I struggle. I fail so painfully that I fear His judgment. No secrets are kept from God. I pray, Though primal at heart And an unworthy sinner with too little fidelity, By the blood of the Lamb, I'll be saved. It's God who is strong And ardent in His promise, To welcome the faithful into His garden Through the body of Christ our Lord. Amen. Free Verse Line count: 20 Jude 1:5 I will, therefore, put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. St Jude's letter warning of the unsaved lurking within the church makes me feel self-conscience about my own sinful nature.
