About This Author
Writing poetry allows me to exercise my imagination and share it with others. I strive to write for the benefit of the reader using carnival fun mirror images of my life's experiences.
The True Color of the Night
The city streets are overwhelmed,
Against the shadow-neon fight,
In the darkness evil's compelled,
Fear the true color of the night.

Ghostly forest under the moon,
Creatures still-hunt with enhanced sight,
Every preditor sense attuned,
Fear the true color of the night.

Past taps, wakes glow phosphorus blue,
Known by every elder shipwright,
But faced with a mutinous crew,
Fear the true color of the night.

The frozen world of absent sun,
Barren artic, an icy plight,
Relief from darkness, there is none,
Fear the true color of the night.

We presume every day of life,
To curse the darkness, curse the light,
In the end, we'll all face death's knife,
And fear the true color of the night.
