Your made-easy guide for Managing Items through your Portfolio page
As your creative endeavors multiply, your Portfolio may begin to resemble a bustling marketplace - brimming with potential, yet perhaps lacking a touch of order. Fear not, for within this abundance lies a wealth of opportunity, waiting to be unlocked with effective management. Here's a made-easy guide on how to properly manage your Portfolio Items:
The very first thing that you need to do is access your portfolio. You can do so by clicking on
Portfolio (685) >
located on the left hand side submenu of this page. It will then give you different sub navigation menus:

Biography
Notebook

Simply click on Portfolio and you will be directed to your portfolio page. You should be able to see another sets of navigation buttons. This time, go directly to
PORTFOLIO
A click on that will expand into this:
REORDER TOP
By default, the newly created item will be displayed first in your portfolio. With this utility, you will be able to reorder your items based on how you wanted it to appear.
Click on Reorder collapsible and it will show this:

Change the numbers in the fields below to reorder your items.
Highest numbers are displayed First.
Important: To save changes, click: [ Reorder ]

A text box right before your items will also appear with the current order (usually in 1000 increment), where the first item on the list bears the highest number. For instance, using my portfolio as an example; it will appear into something like this: View Sample ▼

Simply update the numbers. Once done, click [ Reorder ] to save changes.
MOVE TO FOLDER TOP
This utility will let you move items from one folder to another. This will only be available if you have folders in your portfolio. Assuming that you do have folders, below are the steps on how to move items:
To start with, simply click on Move to Folder collapsible as shown above and it will give this:

Check the box to the left of the item's title,
select a folder from this selector and click the "Move" button.

Simply check the box and then click on the dropdown
[ My Portfolio v ] [ Move ]
Select the name of the target folder you want the item transferred to and hit Move. And you're done.
DRAG/DROP ORGANIZER TOP
This utility is very convenient to use. It's an easier way of moving items to different folders by merely dragging and dropping. It also has an option to create a new folder. By clicking on Drag/Drop Organizer, a small window (modal) will pop up. View Sample ▼

Folders are collapsible, simply click on it and locate the item you want to move. Once already there, drag and drop it to the target folder you want it transferred to. And you're done!
CHANGE ACCESS TOP
This utility will let you update your items Access Restriction. The given default restrictions for Preferred Authors (like me) are the following:
Make PUBLIC, allow EVERYONE!
Keep PRIVATE, for my eyes only!
Registered Users and higher only!
Registered Authors and higher only!
Preferred Authors and higher only!
However, if you are a member to a group or more; Group Only Access will be made available. To update your item's restriction from your Portfolio page (without opening each individual item), follow these simple steps:
Simply click on Change Access collapsible and it will give you this:

Simply click on the dropdown and select your desired restriction. You may also do it in bulk by selecting the appropriate dropdown to every item you want to update. Once done, hit [ Update Access ]
DELETE ITEMS TOP
This utility allows you to delete individual item or in bulk directly through your portfolio's main page (without going to each individual item). Here are the easy steps:
Simply click on Delete Items collapsible and it will give you this:

Check the box to the left of the item's title, then click the "Delete Items" button.

* All deleted items are sent to your Recycling Bin, which is found at the bottom of this page.
You may not delete folders that contain other items.

Simply check the box of the item(s) you want to delete then hit [ Delete Items ]. And your done!
Please note that all deleted items is stored in your Recycling Bin. While they are still in there, you still have the option to Restore them. Purging your recycle bin will delete your items out from Writing.Com's database permanently.
