Owls wail a haunting note
Tonight is bound to scare!
Kids dressed up like cowboys
Witches, fairies, cats—
Roaming wild in the night—
Watch out for the bats!
Candy corn and yummy treats
Given at each door
"Trick or treat!" Mild threats provide
Little gifts galore.
Fun and games are still to come
At home, a movie night
Scary stuff on screens alive
Oh heavens, what a fright!
As sleep descends, fear lurks by—
Spooks scratch beneath the bed.
Don't worry, child, all is well
God keeps you safe from dread.
