Just an airplane

The minutes, they turn into hours
The hours, they turn into days.
My love for you, it increases,
Though you are so far away.

Physically far, yet near, so near,
Hearts touch and they sing out loud.
In joy, in wisdom, in love, my dear,
God gave us each what we sought.

Forever now, it seems possible;
Thoughts of you make me so sure.
Our love is just like in fairy tales,
Forever, with hearts that are pure.

Why an airplane graphic? Why indeed.

A former beau and I first met on the internet. We emailed back and forth, then talked on the phone. Finally we met face to face, and the love we knew existed between us was confirmed.

He worked for an airline, and thus the airplane picture. Working for an airline meant we could have fairly frequent visits. We were certain that one day we would marry.

It was not to be, though. He turned out to be like many men I have met in my lifetime. While I wasn't employed and my finances were in a mess, he was able to extract $100 from my checking account. That caused some small checks to bounce, and soon I was even over the $300 overdraft limit at my bank. I'm still recovering from that.

Sadly, as there have been other such events in my life, I find it harder and harder to trust.
