I want to send my dad an email,
Want to tell him that I’m fine…

Oh why aren’t the angels on line?
Everybody’s got a computer,
Everybody’s on the net…
So why isn’t heaven online yet?
I want to tell him all about the kids,
How I’m takin’ care of mom,
I even know his address-
It’s dad@heaven.com.

I want to tell him he’s a great grand dad,
His granddaughter had a son,
And his slugger’s playing ball for real
And last night, his team won.

Even tho’ it won’t be quite the same.
Everybody’s got a computer,
Everybody’s on the net…
So why isn’t heaven online yet?
I want to tell him ‘bout Mom’s surgery,
How she’s gone back to work again
And how she talks about him everyday—

Remember when I was little
Mayhap four or five
And you put me on your shoulders
And I’d reach up to touch the sky-
