Central International Airport This choice: Justin cooks a great meal, feelings start to develop between them • Go Back...Chapter #7Dinner for three? by: Unknown Kanya watched Justin cook as she sat on the breakfast bar table, legs dangling, a scene she remembered so well when her father used to bring her to the mansion. She was fasinated by the way Justin threw herbs and spices into the meal he was creating and she was listening to the tune he was humming, wracking her memories to where she had heard it before.
"You better be hungry because I've cooked us up a treat!" Justin said, almost too normally, as if they wern't hiding away from anyone.
Kanya grinned, "I'm starving!"
"I'm sorry I dragged you into all this, I'm so stupid." Justin suddenly stopped what he was doing and stared into Kanya's eyes.
She was lost for words for a minute, his deep green eyes hypnotising her.
"Don't blame yourself, my father is the one to blame. He doesn't know when to stop. We have never really seen eye to eye." She stammered, trying to pull away from his gaze.
"I feel like I've known you for a long time, there is something familiar about you but I can't put my finger on it. Have we met through your father before?" Justin said, a puzzled look on his face.
"I don't think so, I have never seen you before, how are you involved with my dad?" Kanya felt herself reddening as his eyes peirced her.
At that question, Justin became flustered and turned away back to the cooker, it looked like he was searched for the right words.
"I'm a scientist." Was all he could muster.
"And what does that have to do with my father?" Kanya pressed him.
"Let's not talk about things past, grubs up!" Justin smiled.
As Kanya pulled two plates from the cupboard, the hairs stood up on the back of her neck as she heard footsteps from above them. She glanced over at Justin who was pouring them both a drink but he hadn't seemed to hear it. Maybe she was being paranoid. But no, there they were again. She looked again at Justin, this time he was looking down at her, he was about to say something. She waved her hands, mouthing "NO!", then she put her fingers to her lips and looked upwards. Justin followed her gaze, again the footsteps sounded and this time Justin heard. The colour drained from his face and Kanya could see the fear in his eyes. Quietly Kanya closed the cupboard and stood up, she gestured for Justin to put the bottle down. Slowly she tiptoed over to him and he held out his hand.
"I'm guessing that isn't your friend who was in the limo with us?" Kanya whispered, the feel of Justins fingers wrapped around hers unsettling her a little.
Justin shook his head. "He left. It's just us. Well, that's what I thought." Justin looked terrified and Kanya felt how he looked but she had to get them out of there, she knew that house like the back of her hand. The intruder, whoever it was, was in the top bedroom, her fathers room. To get to them in the kitchen, they would have to come back onto the hall and down the stairs and through the double doors, there was plenty of time for them to make their escape. But where?
"How's the escape plan coming?" Justin mumbled in Kanya's ears, the footsteps were making their way across the room, any minute now they would be out the door and onto the landing. Kanya shot Justin a look, she was thinking and didn't need him interupting.
There were two choices......
