Chapter #7

Keep your eye on the Prize

    by: Unknown
"Jess..." Phil tried but she waved him away.
"Come on, we've got a job to do." Jess fumbled in her pocket for money to pay the taxi while Phil retrieved the luggage.
"So what's the story?" Phil asked sliding on his shades and slipping out of his jacket.
"We're here on our honeymoon, I've used the last name Harvey." Jess said professionally, not meeting her ex-husbands eyes. She cursed her agency for sending him.
"Yes sir." Phil said a little too sarcastically.
"We need to find out what room Remmiere is staying in.You check us in and I'll get the info." Jess took a deep breath and entered the Plaza Hotel.
The lobby was busy, people were everywhere, it made her feel a little uneasy. She looked for Phil, he was right behind her struggling with the luggage. She nodded towards the check-in desk and Phil nodded back, manauvering his way through the throngs of people to check them in.
Jessica scanned the lobby, she could see woman and men and children but no beefy bodyguards or shifty gangsters. Damn. They were no where to be seen, this meant they had already checked in. This was going to be tricky.

She spotted a young porter, must have been about nineteen, spotty and straight out of college. He was flustered, struggling with some expensive looking luggage, searching for a trolley. Bingo! Jess tousled her hair and popped open a button on her blouse.
"Excuse me Mister..." She said in her sexiest voice.
The porterboy looked up at her, blushing he put the last of the luggage onto the trolley he had somehow aquired and turned his attention to Jessica. He was clearly shy and Jessica knew she could use this to her advantage.
"Erm..can I help you Miss?" The boy mumbled, trying not to look at Jessica's cleavage.
"Yes you can actually, I'm looking for a Mr Remmiere, he's my father. He checked in about half and hour ago but he didn't tell me what room he's staying in." Jessica fluttered her eyelashes for effect, it was working because the boy was going redder and redder.
"Sure, I can help. Follow me." The boy smiled up at Jessica and led her to an empty desk.
"You're very cute." Jessica giggled, she was very good at acting, always had been. The boy giggled back nervously.
He began tapping away at the computer, Jessica glanced around. Phil was still at the checking in desk and there were still no bodyguards to be seen, she was safe. For now.
"Miss Remmiere?" Her attention snapped back to the porter, "your father is in Suite 101, thats on floor 5. He has asked for no distubance this evening, but he is having breakfast at The Lily tomorrow at 8am."
"That's fantastic thank you." Jessica leant down and kissed the boy on the cheek. At that she sauntered away, making sure she swayed her hips for him to see.

"We're room 206, Level 6." Phil joined Jessica in the queue for the elevators.
"Target is one level below but he's not leaving the hotel tonight. Breakfasting tomorrow. We have time. Plus back up will be here by then, we will send them straight to the restaurant." Jess didn't look up at Phil, she was dreading spending the evening in the same room as him if she was honest. They hadn't been alone together since before the divorce and Jessica didn't feel like being alone with him now.

Once inside room 206, Phil put the luggage down and went to make the call to back up, telling them of their plans so Jessica decided she needed a much longed for shower. She stripped down to her underwear, grabbed a towel and closed the en-suite bathroom door. Once inside, she turned on the shower, hot water blasting from the showerhead, filling the bathroom with steam. She sighed, she could relax a little now. Taking her underwear off, she stepped into the hot water, letting it run all over her body and through her hair. Bliss.

After rubbing herself dry, Jessica wrapped the towel tightly around her body, she couldn't risk it coming off in front of Phil, even though he had seen her naked (and made her naked) plenty of times in the past, she didn't want him thinking she was comfortable with him. Then she proceeded to make her way back into the bedroom.
